Meet Dr. Claire Stroede

Dr. Claire Stroede (pronounced STROH-dee) was raised on a farm near Kanopolis, Kansas. She attended high school in the neighboring town of Ellsworth. After graduating first in her high school class, Dr. Stroede left the family farm to study mechanical engineering at Kansas State University. While at K-State, she earned B.S. and M.S. degrees, graduating with highest honors and a nearly perfect GPA. Dr. Stroede proudly represented K-State on the national academic stage as both a Goldwater Scholar and a National Science Foundation Graduate Student Fellow.


After spending 6 years in Manhattan, Dr. Stroede moved to Wichita and worked as a structural engineer in the aircraft industry. Dr. Stroede spent 6 years in Wichita working to maintain the safety of general aviation aircraft. She analyzed metal fatigue and crack growth in aircraft parts to determine when parts should be inspected or replaced. Dr. Stroede held the title of Senior Engineer before she was blessed with the opportunity to pursue a long-time interest in dentistry.
